Four of your own game pieces must be brought to the finish line as quickly as possible in a circular course. However, the pieces are not moved based on dice rolls but rather on card values, with the aim to move them most advantageously. Brändi Dog is a team game and is typically played by 4 people.
Brändi Dog allows for a much more varied and tactical game. Special functions assigned to certain cards, as well as the option to choose from multiple cards, expand the repertoire of moves. Playing as a team adds an additional layer to Brändi Dog. This reduces the element of luck and promotes good tactics.
These features guarantee an exciting, addictive, and enjoyable game. In Switzerland, a large fan community has already emerged.
In the game, players form 2-player teams and sit opposite each other at the game board. In each round, a changing number of playing cards are dealt. Before the start of each round, a card is exchanged secretly with the partner.
By playing the right card, the dogs can leave the kennel and move toward the finish line. The starting point must be passed at least twice by covering an entire lap, or once by moving backward over it. After that, the game pieces can fill the destination spaces.
Many cards have special effects. For example, a Four can be moved forward or backward, a Seven can be split among multiple game pieces, and a Jack allows the exchange of one's own game piece with that of a partner or opponent. In certain variants, it is allowed to exchange the Eight, which contains one's (bad) cards, with the (hopefully better) cards of any other player, whether they like it or not.
